Introducing Battle of Guardians: The Next-Gen Blockchain Multiplayer Game Based on NFTs

In brief

  • The rise in blockchain gaming has led to many interesting games, one of which is Battle of Guardians.
  • This is a multiplayer fighting game that relies on NFTs, and by purchasing them, players are buying unique fighters.
  • The game is already full of features, offering different characters and in-game items as NFTs, staking, NFT renting, and more.

Battle of Guardians is a new blockchain-based multiplayer fighting game that uses NFTs in the form of playable fighting characters, as well as in-game items.

Ever since the NFT sector of the crypto industry blew up in early 2021, blockchain gaming has been exploding right alongside it. The gaming industry was already one of the few to accept blockchain technology with open hands, and thanks to NFTs — it got the opportunity to reinvent itself and make things more interesting for the players.

This led to the birth of blockchain-based games that utilize NFTs for the players’ benefit, allowing them to play fun, interesting games, and earn money by buying and selling NFTs, winning rewards, and more. This is what led to the creation of a brand new multiplayer game called Battle of Guardians — a next-gen blockchain game that uses non-fungible tokens.

What is Battle of Guardians?

Battle of Guardians (BOG) is a new real-time multiplayer NFT fighting game created by UNREAL ENGINE. The game is based on Solana Network — one of the fastest blockchains that act as development platforms, and one of the best Ethereum alternatives in the crypto industry at this moment.

The game allows players to train and engage in battles against others in a fierce multi-realm environment. This vast game world offers constant opportunities to fight others, and earn rewards by defeating them.

Obviously, that means that the players need to train enough to make their fighters better than their competitors.

BOG believes that the metaverse is the future of blockchain, the internet, and gaming alike, and it is excited to develop its own metaverse as soon as possible and to make it one of the most interesting and competitive ones around. To do so, it combines gaming, NFTs, metaverse, and GameFi, with a play-to-earn model added into the mix.

Of course, since blockchain gaming and play-to-earn is a major trend now, the project studied competitors only to find that the gaming element is fairly weak in most of these projects. Their play-to-earn model focuses more on earning and not enough on playing. Since players are coming to these projects to experience their games, this is not satisfying for most of them.

BOG decided to be different by focusing more on PvE and PvP elements, using the collection of NFT fighters. The game has a tier system, three different races, numerous playable characters, and more. All of this has allowed it to become a real battleground for competitive players seeking to test their skill, agility, patience, and power.

How does it work?

The project has its own NFT marketplace where users/players and BOG can buy and sell NFT characters who act as fighters, as well as in-game items. The project also features two tokens that act as in-game currencies — Battle of Guardians Share ($BGS) and Fighting Points ($FP).

Both cryptocurrencies are useful for participating in various game modes, buying new characters and items, as well as for staking. It also has something called NFT Renting, which is a renting mechanism that adds another option for those seeking to earn while engaging with the project. Basically, it allows owners to rent their NFT assets to skillful players who can earn from the game.

Renters get to earn by offering their characters, and players get to earn by winning fights. It is a win-win situation.

Finally, the project also has an element of Scholarships. Essentially, as guilds become more popular, and the project starts to grow in popularity, it will start providing a scholarship program that is already built into its smart contract.

Battle of Guardians has huge potential to become one of the go-to fighting games on blockchain — a new version of Mortal Kombat, perhaps, and as such, it is definitely worth keeping an eye on. If nothing else, its NFTs and native tokens are likely to see a growth in demand and popularity, which could end up boosting their price. And, you can always win a bit extra money by winning battles or renting your NFTs.
